In today’s post I’m sharing the best things to do on Bainbridge Island from a local’s perspective.
I recently traveled to Bainbridge Island for a girls weekend and had the best time! (see my highlight reel on instagram ) In fact, one of my favorite families lives on this island, and every time I visit we have a blast. Not only are they the greatest hosts, but they love to show us around this beautiful place they call home. Read on for some of my top (and theirs!) pics for things to do on Bainbridge Island.
Bonfires on Bainbridge… all day every day.
If you stay the night on Bainbridge Island you’ll find that one of the BEST things to do is build a bonfire. I know this might not seem like something I would list as my top recommendation, but it is. 🙂 When we stay with this sweet family one of my first priorities is to sip a yummy cocktail under this tree and enjoy some good convo around this fire.

I do believe air bnb’s are the way to go when staying on Bainbridge. Another fun option is Rockaway Beach. It’s super close to the ferry, and if you get a home on the water you’ll most likely have an awesome view of downtown Seattle.

*Side note: if you’re looking for fun ideas to do with the family this summer check out my post HERE!

When I stayed in this home on Rockaway Beach it was for another girlfriend’s 40th celebration. She rented this for just a night but we made the most of it. Once it got dark we headed down to the rocky beach below and shared how our friend impacted our lives… all around a roaring bonfire.
And the views of downtown Seattle at night over the water are just…

Ok now back to my stay with Sarah at her charming cottage in Bainbridge.
Staying with my friend Sarah and her family is always a treat. Before I dive into all the best things to do on Bainbridge let me show you how cute her place is!

I stayed in this adorable cottage! It was like sleeping in a tree house upstairs. So peaceful.

Next check out the pics of their home and the grounds…

The best food on Bainbridge Island.
My buddies are total foodies so I never doubt their recommendations when it comes to where to eat. They lead, I follow. It works. For example, check out what they had waiting for me when I arrived.
I supplied the baguette from Le Panier, they supplied this amazing snap pea (from the garden), burrata and prosciutto appetizer! This was crazy delicious.
Oh and did I mention we also baked a pie? The berries in the PNW are world-renown. So if you don’t get a chance to bake your own pie at least try some in one of the many places I suggest below.

Hitchock for Dinner and Hitchock Deli for burgers/lunch.
The last time my whole family visited we (as in just the adults) dined at Hitchcock in downtown Bainbridge. I highly recommend going with the chef’s choice for dinner. It was quite an experience. The food was phenomenal. They also have Hitchcock Deli right next door that serves up the most amazing burgers. We also tried the fried asparagus. Highly recommend.

Here’s a few other places Sarah suggests…

I have plenty more suggestions at the bottom of this post!

XO,

Great post! All your photos really capture the PNW vibe 🙂
Awww thank you! You all live in a pretty special place.
You forgot to include the most important attraction. The Japanese internment memorial. It`s more moving than all your other events combined. A historical treasure. I personally know a lot of the Bainbridge Island residents who were encapsulated during WWII.
Wow! Thank you for telling me about this. I will be sure to let my friend who lives there know about this as well. She has three boys would love to see this. Have a great day and thanks for reading!
