Suns out buns out! Since summer is in full swing I decided for this week’s Friday Favorite I would share my top 8 favorite summer essentials I can’t live without! Just click on the links below to shop!
My top 8 favorite summer essential 1: Self Tanner!!!
Self tanner is a must ladies, a MUST! I’m a sun worshipper for sure, but definitely also wear my SPF. But if you are trying to build a tan and need your face or body to look a little bronzed while you wait then self tanner can be a god send. To prevent wrinkles and dark spots (aka melasma) I now always try to keep my face out of the sun. Self tanner helps me not look like a ghost and gives me that sun-kissed glow. It makes my whole complexion look brighter and better! There are so many good ones out there, but if you’re looking for one that smells good and gives you a reliable true color this one from Loreal has been great. It definitely makes the cut for one of my top 8 favorite summer essentials!
My top 8 favorite summer essential 2: Kindle E-reader
I love to read if I’m laying out poolside, beachside or late when everyone is asleep. Ideally, (IDEALLY)- summer should be a time for slowing down and relaxing. This to me means picking up a few fun summer easy reads. The kindle is so great because its super light so its easy to hold when laying down and it doesn’t have a glare.
My top 8 favorite summer essential 3: Contigo water bottle
This water bottle is ESSENTIAL, essential to my summer stash and anytime stash. I call it my “ba-ba” and can’t be without it for a second! Where do I start? First, it keeps your water cold for hours! Second, it holds up to 24 ounces so no need to keep refilling all the time. Third, its got a great little handle for carrying. Fourth, it doesn’t leak.. at all! Fifth, the push button release makes it so easy to drink out of and the flow is great! And finally, it has a flip cover for the spout so it makes keeping it clean and protected very easy. I can’t recommend this water bottle enough!
My top 8 favorite summer essential 4: Sunglasses
Do you like nice sunglasses? I do too. But you know what? With three kids and two pets I am always either losing mine or dropping them. They get scratched so fast! So now my plan of attack is to load up on a few inexpensive (yet nice quality) sunglasses at a time and keep them stashed in my car for when I need a new pair. It sucks driving in summer without sunglasses so I never want to be without. These faux celine’s are some of my favorite because they are so cheap, feel great and they’re cute! I got them on Amazon!
My top 8 favorite summer essential 5: Sun hat
As far as summer essentials go another absolute favorite is this sun visor/hat. I also got this on Amazon a few years ago when I was going to be flying for summer vacation. I needed something that could roll up in my suitcase so it wouldn’t turn out all wonky when we reached our destination. I also wear my hair up in a top knot a lot so this hat didn’t smush my hair down. Also, if you are going to lay out and put your head back most hats get smushed then too or sit all weird on my head. Not this one! Its adjustable too. Protect that face ladies!
My top 8 favorite summer essential 6: Tularosa two piece
It’s getting harder for me to wear a two piece these days. Let’s just say babies left their marks. This swimsuit is a great compromise. I still feel like I’m wearing a two piece but have the luxury of keeping things nicely tucked away still! Ha! It comes in so many different colors too! There’s even a one piece option that’s also extremely flattering. The Tularosa one can be a bit spendy, but I did see some knock-offs on Amazon for super cheap. I’ll link here. However, full disclaimer I don’t have the Amazon version so I can’t validate the quality.
My top 8 favorite summer essential 7: Sunbum sunscreen
There’s a lot of talk about protection from the sun on this post I know. But hey, if we’re gonna be basking in it we also need to protect ourselves too! Especially those of you who have kids! I found this sunscreen a few years a go and I’m obsessed. It’s definitely always top in my favorite summer essentials. It blends into the skin so well and it smells amazing. If I use the 70 on my kids it will usually last pretty much all afternoon with just one application. I swear by it! They also have some pretty yummy hair products now too. We love the detangler and leave in conditioning spray.
My top 8 favorite summer essential 8: Coconut oil
Coconut oil! Its one of my top favorites for so many things and not just during summer. But me and the girls have curls, and with curls comes a lot of maintenance- especially during the summer months when they’re in the water a lot. I like to coat their strands before the pool or beach in coconut oil because it protects and helps speed up the detangling process after. I also love to use it as an overnight leave in conditioner before shampooing the following day.
