Are you planning a fall birthday or party? Well check out this post for the cutest fall harvest party ideas!
Fall is crazy for us. In fact, its basically the on ramp for the business of the holidays. Two of my daughters have birthdays deep into fall and they are three weeks apart. Last year I threw a Halloween bash for my middle daughter Violet. It was the first time we had done a Halloween birthday for her- kind of hard to believe when her birthday is October 16! You can read all about that in this post here. So this was our first time throwing her a good old fashioned country birthday. It helps that my father-in-law now lives on a huge avocado ranch! Yay for us! This party was so much fun. And lets face it, the best parts of a birthday party are the decor and the activities! So if you’re looking for fall harvest party ideas check out what we did.
All the food was served in this cute little screened in cabin. I decided to serve chili and hot dogs because it just felt like the right thing to do for a fall harvest party! For the recipe I used check out this post here.
The setting
We held the party in the persimmon orchards.
Fall Harvest Party Ideas- Tractor rides!
The kids could not get enough of this! They went round and round and round for hours.
Bobbing for Apples
We gave each girl 15 seconds to see how many apples they could grab just using their teeth!
Fall Harvest Party Ideas- Haysack races!
Funny enough I have always wanted to do this at a birthday party. This activity was hilarious! I got the sacks from Amazon. I linked them for you here.
Painting in the Persimmons
We are fortunate that their grandma is an artist. I asked her if she could give the girls a lesson and she said YES! She decided to use these pre-printed canvases. Find similar ones here.
Caramel Apples are a must for fall harvest party ideas!
This activity was a HIT! I bought mini apples and this adorable caramel apple station from Amazon. For the toppings I bought most of those on Amazon too! I used sprinkles, graham cracker crumbs, chocolate sprinkles and of course caramel and fudge! I also bought crushed nuts but forgot to put those out! Woops! Find the tablecloths we used here.
Every party needs a pinata.
Pinatas are always a highlight at kids birthday parties here in California. Families from Mexico brought this tradition here and we all thank them for it!
These s’mores favors were super easy to make! I found the bags here.
This party was so fun and super easy to do. The kids loved all the games. Another activity I had planned but ran out of time for was Mummy Making. Put the kids in groups of three and have two of them race to finish mummifying the third kid. You can use toilet paper or that webbing you see people use for Halloween decorations. The set of three that finished first wins! I’m so bummed we didn’t do it cause I’m sure the girls would have thought this was at the funniest thing ever!
Thanks for taking the time to check out these fall harvest party ideas! I hope you found some inspiration. Do you have any ideas for fall parties you can share with me? Drop a comment below. I’d love to know! We have two every year and we’re always looking for new ideas.
