If you’re hosting a party this fall and need a fall shower favor idea you’re going to love this sugar free apple cider butter!
Several years ago, like 7 I think?! I co-hosted a baby shower in the month of November. The weather was rainy and the venue where we held it (my friend’s mom’s house) was so beautiful and COZY! It couldn’t have been a better spot for a fall baby shower. But, since we’re talking seven years a go I have to apologize in advance for the quality of some the images of the shower itself. Ha! Hopefully you will get some ideas of the sparkly coziness though. I was in charge of the favors, and had just gone apple picking and had TONS of apples. So what’s a girl to do? I made homemade apple butter! So as far as a fall shower favor idea goes- I don’t think you can do much better than this! You will love it, and its sooo easy to make!
We recently went apple picking again and got tons of these beauties! So I made a new batch and plan to use them for teacher gifts at Christmas. If you want some other unique ideas for teacher gifts check out my post here.
Yeah, sometimes we match. 😉
Be sure to read this whole post because at the end I have a free download for the recipe for this super easy sugar free apple cider butter. Yummy goodness coming your way!
Let’s check out the party shall we and see what inspired this fall shower favor idea!
Like I said before the images are grainy here but you get the idea. We hosted this shower in a beautiful tuscan villa in Santa Barbara. Balconies flank both sides of the living room and in the center is a stunning fireplace!
I actually sewed this DIY garland using fabric scraps I already had. The mama to be loves turquoise and all bright colors so I wanted to make sure this was something she could take home and use in the nursery. I just downloaded a triangle shape and printed it out. Then I traced it onto the back of a small piece of fabric using an invisible pen (you can find them at craft or sewing stores). Using pinking shears I cut the triangle shape out of the fabric. Pinking shears are great because you get that cute zig zag edge, and they keep your fabric from coming apart on the edges.
You can sew or use fabric glue to attach embellishments like rick rack ribbon, and then do the same to attach your triangles to a long piece of ribbon! This can be a no sew DIY project for all you novice sewers out there!
Candles and mercury glass added just the right amount of sparkle to the ambiance.
You can’t have a cozy fall party without a good hot cocoa station! This was actually the first time I had ever seen this and I’ve since done it many times. I think its genius!
We used mexican spiced cocoa and guests could add cinnamon sticks, whip cream, marshmallows (of course!-duh!) and other yummy spices on top. Also, always a good idea to have a little Kahlua or Bailey’s on hand. Ha! 🙂 For a non-alcoholic version you could use this syrup here to get the same effect!
Let’s talk food now shall we?
My friend Jess made this fig preserve cheese torte in the SHAPE OF A HEART! How cool is that?!
You can’t have a fall party without pumpkin pie guys, and we ladies know we all love a good sweet treat in the afternoon!
I had to make my famous buttermilk pie. I’m a southern girl, and I love this pie! Maybe, maaaybe I’ll share this recipe with you one day. 😉
The cute invitation that spawned my fall shower favor idea…
The mama loved the Baby Baluga song so we went with this cute whale theme.
How cute is this right?! Baby Balu-ga Butter! Seriously guys, if you have a ton of apples for some random reason, and don’t know what to do with them all- cook them down into apple butter! If you put them in cute jars they make such fun gifts- especially for fall shower favor ideas!
I just cut small pieces of burlap and wrapped them up with this cute black and white twine. And if you don’t already own bakers twine do yourself a favor and buy some! Its super cheap and can be used for so many things! Wrapping presents, cute food gifts, crafts and displays- sooo many things!
Ok so how easy issss it to make this butter? Really…

What I will say about this recipe is that you need time. You need at least a couple of days to let it cook, and you must have a slow cooker to make this. The hands-on time isn’t very much, but the name of the game with this recipe is allowing those pretty little apples to take their time cooking down.
This apple butter is seriously so yummy, and if you decide to preserve it you can save it for a year!
