New Year Do YOU! Let’s get a fresh start with this free 30 day home cleaning challenge printable!
So 2020 has officially started, yay! How are you feeling? Are you excited and motivated or still picking up the pieces from the holidays? I think I’m somewhere in the middle. As I’m looking at the calendar I can’t believe we’re almost smack day in the middle of January! There’s still so many things I want to get done this month, and most of those things consist of cleaning and organizing. For me, its easier to start a project if I have a plan. That’s why I created this 30 day home cleaning challenge!

I like starting a new year fresh. Normally, I don’t pick a “word for the year,” but this year I’m going with CLARITY. Ya know, 2020 like 20/20 vision?!! 😉 I can relate to clarity because I myself have terrible vision! I’ve spent my entire life trying to find the perfect contact lenses and glasses!
Clarity for me means being really clear about how I spend my time. I plan to spend time focusing on the type of mom, friend, wife, and daughter I want to be. My vision for this year is to slow down and really focus on my goals. I get distracted easily, and I think part of that is due to the fact that I like so many different things. When you like a lot of different things it can make it hard to make decisions. So, when I get stuck on a decision what do I do? I move on to the next thing instead of finishing what I started.

My life feels like it’s filled with a lot of unfinished projects. Projects that are supposed to be fun and bring me joy. They’re probably unfinished because I’m too busy and distracted. Personally, this affects me when I’m with my kids. Instead of enjoying my time with them, I’ll find myself thinking about what else I “should be doing.”
The real reason I created this 30 day home cleaning challenge…
My goal is to start the year off with a clean slate, and to implement more systems into our daily routine so I can spend more time enjoying this.

And spend less time worrying about unfinished projects and keeping the house clean! So I’ve got this 30 day home cleaning challenge printable for you (if you’re a subscriber this has already been emailed to you!). But I plan on creating a monthly/weekly/quarterly printable as well. Something cute you hang up all year to help keep you (and me!) stay organized.

Here’s a few of my favorite tips and items for cleaning.
When cleaning make up brushes:Â I like to soak mine every 2-3 months in a sink full of warm water and shampoo for at least ten minutes. I agitate the brush with my fingers under running water as well. If the make up is really caked on (ugh I know!) I rub on an oil free make up remover and agitate against a dry paper towel. After I rinse them clean I let them air dry on a paper towel or gently blow them dry with a hair dryer. I love Mac’s make up brushes, and often find the best deals on these are during the holidays when they sell them in cute sets!
Favorite Cleaning Products: I use Thieves household cleaner and Meyers. I love Thieves because its made with essential oils, comes highly concentrated (so one bottle lasts a really long time) and because it can be used to clean so many things! It’s also safe to use around your pets and kids. I love Meyers as well because its also safe to use around the house and the options of fragrances are so good! My whole house smells so fresh after I use their products!
My Favorite Pantry Organizing containers would have to be good old fashioned mason jars! You can buy them in bulk, they’re affordable and can be sanitized in the dishwasher! Plus, they come in a variety of sizes, look super cute on your shelves and have a great seal. You can also find tons of custom labels made for the lids or the jars. For other organizing favorites of mine check out this post here where I’ve listed storage options for kids’s rooms and the office!

xo,

I can totally relate to everything you just said here! I too get easily distracted because I love doing too many things!! Lol. I am happy we started hiring a cleaner to help me keep with the house. Best decision ever! Oh and I use thieves cleaner too, it’s the best!!
I love it too! And yes the distraction is REAL girl! So good you started with an actual plan for your daughters room and stuck to it. You finished it so fast! I need to do that more. Have a great day!
